I should note that I do have Alcohol 120% burning software installed, as well as Daemon tools (though they dont' load on startup). I even tried using "Cacheman 5.1" to manually set the read ahead to 2488 bytes / optimized for 48X drives, and as soon as I reboot, it's reset back to no read ahead and 1088 bytes.
